Spirituality, Life and Science

All of us are stricken with some or the other problems, adversities or grief. One can’t find a person without any trouble, difficulty or anguish. For achieving the goals of life, we always struggle. Sometimes, the struggle is not for achieving any goal but for stimulating our mind, for maintaining the cheerfulness of the mind. We always try to attain something. However, sometime in our of life we need to face a series of failures, one after the other. We need to bear the huge losses. We need to face affront unnecessarily even without our fault. When all our plans get upset, slowly and gradually we start losing self-confidence and then certain questions consistently persecute our mind, why is this happening with me only? why am I required to endure all these issues? why is the injustice with me?

At this instance the spiritual principles tell us that, "this is the outcome of our earlier deeds. Involve yourself in spirituality. Do the meditation of the almighty to come out of it". Even though it’s not wrong but when we are already dejected, our mind gets further aggrieved by numerous questions. When we hear that, a leaf of a tree doesn’t move without the will of the God, then what is happening with us is also his wish. Then, why he wishes like this? Why does he sets us in the cycles of sorrows and joys? Why there is a rift between poor and rich? Why always the evils are there along with benign? In short, why always there is imbalance in the world? The universe is created and perished by the God. Then what’s the meaning of the famous taught by Vedas, Upanishads and other sacred scriptures which state that the God is never created and is everlasting?

If we try to explore the answers for these questions with a simple approach, then some scientific and mathematical theorems may help us to understand the abstruse hidden behind it. All of us have heard about the famous Law of Conservation of Energy. It states that, “Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change from one form to another”. The God being a Super-Energy he is eternal and never-ending. He is only transformed into various leaving and non-leaving forms. Saint Dyaneshwar showed this through various incidences of his life. He made the buffalo to utter the verses from Vedas and he had driven the wall from one place to another. From these instances we can understand what Lord Krishna has said in Bhagwat Geeta that, 'He' is there in the Living and the Non-Living objects. Now, we will attempt to understand, why is the  imbalance exists in the universe. When it’s an energy, it can’t remain without doing any work, it can’t remain static. Flow or motion is the outcome of the work done by the energy. Whether it’s a water or electricity, it can flow only when there is a potential difference between the two points. Flow takes place from higher level to lower level. This emphasizes why imbalance is there in the universe. When wealthy people donate to poor people, the Goddess Laxmi which is the form of energy flows from one person to another. In economic terms, donor promotes the purchasing power of the donee. This gives us a clear idea how economic growth takes place when the money rolls out revealing the relation between Economic Science and Spirituality and also highlights why  imbalance is there. This explains us one more important taught of spirituality that the God is complete. If, we talk in terms of Mathematical Language, through this imbalance of wealthy and poor, evil and good, light and darkness, the God has infinite positivity and negativity. Mathematically, normally we take the wrong meaning of ‘Zero’, means ‘Nothing’. Actually, zero is the answer obtained by adding positive infinity to negative infinity. The Zero is therefore, complete and huge as it contains these two infinities. That’s the reason why dividing any number with zero is meaningless as this number would be infinitely small when compared to zero. Then, how can we divide an infinitely small number by infinitely huge number? So, it's meaningless. Similarly, when we try to divide zero by any such number the outcome of such a division with a negligibly small number will lead to the same number which is being divided. Therefore, zero divided by any number yields us zero.

The meaning of this mysterious relationship between Spirituality, Life and Science is explained by the Verse in the Second Chapter of Brihadaranyaka

ॐ पूर्णमद: पूर्णमिदं पूर्णात् पूर्णमुदच्चते।

पूर्णस्य पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते ।।
